Rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated

Since the chickenhawk is typing for me right now (verbatim -ed) we'll make this short and sweet.

I am alive.

I checked into kaiser hospital on Tuesday feeling crappy from the latest round of chemo. It was a dark couple of days that I hope I never have to repeat. But I've turned a corner, took an ambulance ride from Roseville to Stanford, and I am geting my strength back and uh (burp) at my new digs. I am really tired, I have lost a lot of weight, and my focus is on learning how to eat whole food again, gaining weight, and getting healthy for the transplant. (my mouth is getting sore, let me take a sip) My uh lack of communication has been intentional; I have to focus on myself right now. I appreciate all the love and support. I love the comments and savor all of them. (Um) I'll let you know when I'm ready fro phone calls and visitors. (Um) All detailed information is going through Adam Forest, my team captain right now. Please contact him for questions or concerns.
Love to all of you, thanks for the support and kind words.
Love, Spencer

aye mate, took a look into Davy Jones' locker I 'ere. Welcome back. We're looking forward to more days of plunderin and drinkin rum....Can't have the ball without the king you know...

Tough round. time to stop at the feed zone and load up. Calories calories calories. Keep em up for the next climb.

Remember, anytime an MD gives you odds, give 'em the finger. Feisty wins every time.

It's a bad set of intervals but you are kicking butt. We're pulling for you Spence. You are one amazing dude. My only question is this: do you think your upcoming 7 tour wins will be this tough?

Livestrong my friend,
T

Spencer, the web of friends that has you suspended weightless in the middle is amazing. Everywhere we go, everyone we talk to, you are the center of the conversation. YOU are amazing. I am looking forward to seeing you soon!
Tom finished the Vineman Ironman yesterday. I think he was a little worried about it, and then we got news of what you were going through, and he said "I don't think I can complain about a triathlon." And then inspird by you, he kicked booty.

Love you,
H

...boy oh boy...that 50/50 bizness wasn't good for yer health or the rest of us, to be honest...

...lotta lumps in peoples throats in 'this' peleton, no freakin' doubt...

...but like always, you (as lead rider) & the team had what it takes to get back up to the break...

...awesome, as usual...

...however, i do question tourmaline otc's wisdom in predicting that you'll win 7 tours, though...i say four(4)...one(1) more than lemond, who i'll always have respect for, but 'facts is facts' & it's a fact he whines too much...so maybe, you could shut him up, ya ???...

...& seven(7)...who wins that many ???...that would not only take superb conditioning, perfect timing, a strong devoted team, more luck than most people will see in a lifetime but maybe, just maybe...drum roll, please, a little 'extra' help...

...either way, spence, you're in a cleaner race, so, keep fightin' & we'll keep believin'...just WIN spence, just WIN !!!...

Glad to hear rumours of your demise have been greatly exaggerated. Greetings from a near 40 year old puddin' cyclist in Dublin, Ireland. I'm rooting for you.
